This was an average show, as were many I caught on the final leg of Phish`s last tour. What was not average about this show was that while listening to every song, you were not quite sure just when you would be able to see it played again. The first set is fun, with a pretty groovy bathtub gin, and a rockin first tube opener. For me it was all about the second set, Twist was a mellow and enjoyable entry. 2001 gets me going everytime, and this version was sweet. Tweezer was the only real exploration of the night, and was the highlight for me, some real dark jamming. Meatstick was fun, and the japanese lyrics are snappy, wonder if they will keep playing it when they come back?? Bowie was Bowie, and YEM was YEM. Only the last one for awhile, maybe they will open with it in NYC ;) Check it out, it`s worth a listen.

This was one of the most awesome Phish Shows I have been to. The feelings in the air that day were groovin` and live was cool. I didn`t know until later that is was the last show in such a long time. The crowd just flowed with the scene and the band took us for one fine trip. The music was performed with such ease and transported me to a totaly beautiful place. Just the few tracks of the download I have listened to so far bring me right back again. Well worth the time to download - even if you only got 26K. Grab a beer or ... and kick back and wait for it to happen. When you get to play it you`ll be pleased. Can`t wait for the guys to make it back to Shorline, or even better the SacValley Ampatheatre. (I refuse to call it the AutoMall or Carmart or whatever the heck they changed it to!) Peace Blubear2

As if a 20 min YEM isn`t a clue that there is some serious trance inducing jamz to be found here... Check the headspace from the end of Fee and the transcendant lazer precise jam through Bathtub Gin!! You can tell the Boyz had fun!

Not a bad way to end things. Crowd favorites like Mike`s Groove and Tweezer are always welcome. As are some of the lesser played tunes like Fee, Glide, and My Soul. It was great that they ended the second set with Tweeprise, because that meant that anything was fair game in the encore. In my opinion, the encore had some of the best improv of the night. It started out with a good groove, but the last five/ten minutes before the vocal jam are what make Phish PHISH. Just listen to how it ebbs and flows through all these differents phases before melting away into the vocal jam. It starts at a point where it feels like Trey is bringing it down and Page is right there with him, but as soon as they hit rock bottom Mike just shoots them right back up and into it again for one last rally. No matter how many times I listen to it, it never loses its charm. Mike is phenomenal. And Fish even gets a tiny little drum solo in there. Good stuff I tells you. Listen to it and you`ll know what I`m talking about. However, nothing can compare with the feeling that was in the air when the crew started taking down the set. At that moment everyone realized that this could really be the last time, there are no guarantees in life. As the Beatles serenaded the crowd, everyone stood up and clapped/hugged/kissed/cried/laughed/stood there with there mouths hanging wide open. Nothing can compare to that. Not even the last five minutes of YEM, which are pretty damn good.
