This was the second time I had spent the night outside the arena so I could be first in line for tickets. Actually, I think I was like 5th for tickets this time. The previous year I was front row, middle. It was an awsome experience. So in 97 when I found out that the ENTIRE floor was sold out before the box office opened I was pretty bummed. I went, but my tickets were way up the side. I was like looking over Mike`s shoulder from 1000 feet. The show was going along awsome, as every show does, when suddenly it hit me. I knew why I was stuck so far away when the guys broke into Theme From The Bottom. All I have to say is that I saw them in Dayton three (four?) times and each show was amazing!

Where to begin ? AC/DC Bag. Remeber the ACDC Bag>Suzy G days ? Seemed when Trey called Bag out as the opener it set the tone for a great show !!! Quintessential Phish on this night in December of 97. This must have been a sleeper show.....reminds me of the show I saw at the Desert Sky Pavillion in Phoenix AZ in the summer of 98 which opened with AC/DC Bag and just became a ridiculous setlist..... when they broke out the she caught the katy after ghost.....small crowd in attendance. Can we get that one DAT ? The other one I would love to see on here is the August 93 first show at Red Rocks with the Divided Sky opener !!! Miss the band....Phan forever. Thanks for all the good times Trey, Mike, John and Page !!!

I can`t believe it`s been eight years to this exact minute that I experienced this show!

We were getting ready to leave Michigan to head to Dayton, my friend Dave; who had been to more shows with me than any other at the time, decided to stay behind. I told him to come, I had a good feeling about what was in store for us there. He stayed back and hit the books, I hit the road with some other friends.

Once at the Nutter Center, Jon who had Dave`s ticket, found another in the lot before heading in. I knew Dave had slipped - this never happened to us. But it did and we all were holding tickets, so Jon gave it away quick.

Well needless to say the show was legendary. I doubt if anyone can put in words what it felt like to be there that night. I will not claim any show as my favorite as there were so many, so significant for different reasons.

Dave, you missed out man.

Trey, Page, Fish, Mike and all your crew,
--- Thanks for everything

This show is definitely a good one, but I`m not so sure it`s worthy of being considered one of the best ever. In fact, the only thing that makes this show stand out in my mind is unique setlist. On this night, Phish kept their funky jams short and concise. That being said, I`m a big fan of the Psycho Killer, It`s Ice > Swept Away > It`s Ice, TFTB, Tube and subsequent Dayton Jam, Slave, and a really funky and fun Boogie on Reggae Woman. You won`t be disappointed in purchasing this funky show, but once again, I think there are better shows on this site.
