One of the best shows I have ever heard. I always wondered why the band didn`t release this one on the Live series. Tube is almost as funky as James Brown on his worst night.

Incredible show! Took my dad to his first show ever, on the floor, 14th row. AC/DC Bag got my dad moving and then Psycho Killer, with Jesus Left Chicago to follow.....very appetizing. Slave was also very satisfying to close the first set. 2nd set highlights include Wolfman`s and a Boogie On which was very unexpected, but very appreciated. Reba, Guyute, Possum (My dad says to this day that Possum is his favorite Phish song) to close the 2nd set? And a Day in the Life to send us off, was the topper to a great night! One of my very favorite shows.

great pick. definitely one of the best shows of fall `97, up there with 11-17 in denver. the dayton jam was actually common throughout the tour, even the night before in detroit. this whole show is a highlight.

From about 20 rows back, slighty right of center, this show was overpowering. We were right in front of the elevated sound board, and on the leading edge of the platform were two folding chairs. Just before the mayhem began, what looked to be a student and a professor-type (beard, dark turtle neck, earth tone tweed jacket with the ever-predictable patches on the elbows), sat down in those chairs. The lights kicked off, the crowd roared, and the show began. As Jesus was finishing his departure from Chi-town, I looked back at this professor-type to see how he was faring, all exposed, as he was, sitting at our shoulder level, absorbing the full power of the band. He was gritting his teeth like a kamikazi pilot powering his plane into pearl harbor. Or, perhaps, as one might on an underestimated hit of windowpain. I can only imagine what the next onslaught of tunes did to him. Tube must of been quite confusing. He did not return for the second set. Too bad, the possum, as always, rocked.

This show is soooo amazing. Some great sounding mp3`s were up on nugs a while ago and it sucks you guys missed them. But anyway...

Bag opener is pretty basic but high energy.

Psycho killer>jesus left chicago is so outstanding. It`s really crisp and just smooth, and the segue is sick as well. It will blow you away.

My mind- switches gears a bit and is a nice listen

Its ice>swept away>steep>its ice is real good and followed by a beautiful Theme w/ some nice guitar work from trey, but what comes next is pretty mind blowing:

Tube. It`s high energy but its the jam after tube that is so funky. Its just pure phunk right there, and it segues real well into...

Slave. Nice set closer.

Timber-good opener, real high energy.
the wolfman`s>boogie>reba is pretty remarkable. Just so funky at points, a nice trifecta of songs there.

Guyute- another "composed jam" song (yes its oxymoronical). but a nice guyute.

possum-Probably the best or one of the best possums i`ve ever heard.

A day in the life-nice. doesnt really matter what they play cause it can`t really top the rest of that show.

Definitely buy it. It`s not a choice, it`s an obligation. You owe your ears this.

I had seen this show on some trading lists, but none have the sound quality this one does, and the proper encoding and sector boundaries. Worth the money for the clean job and technological cleanups.

Insanity in Ohio!!! From the opener to the encore, this is one of THOSE shows. Yes, there are a lot of notable things about this show, like the Psycho Killer, Jesus Left Chicago, Tube, Dayton Jam, Boogie On....Just about every song is a beast. But this should not overshadow the fine playing throughout the sets. A great job of using 2, not 3 discs. Thanks!

Not just one of the greatest shows that I`ve been fortunate enough to see, but probably one of the greatest Phish shows of all time. There is not one song, or moment, where I feel the need to skip ahead and wished they had played something else. I think it is one of the best technically played shows, while also bringing in some of the funk and open jamming that was prominent of the 97` run. The AC/DC Bag > Psycho Killer, Jesus Just Left Chicago is amazing. The Wolfman`s Brother > Boogie on Reggae Woman is one of the best segues and funk you`ll here. The Reba and Guyute are things of beauty. Simply put: All of the great things that you have heard about this show is true.
