"Stranded on an Island" Top Five!

   Blessed  (8/3/2008 4:43:36 PM)

What a blessed experience. My friend and I left Fresno with tickets, a sack of the kill, and about 10 dollars in petty cash. Got sidetracked by a flat and had the surreal experience of trying to find a replacement tire in some hick ghostown during an agricultural festival. Every garage and autorelated store in town laughed at us and said "Good luck... Not on a festival day". We drove to SF on a donut and a prayer. I looked at my friend on the bridge into Frisco and told him that I had a feeling that we would be repaid and rewarded for all of the bullshit we had gone through. This premonition was confirmed in Set II when a second guitar player with a distinctly recognizable tone joined the already hot TAB. I looked at my friend and exclaimed, " Thats F&*_ing Carlos F$#ing Santana". I repeated this statement multiple times while my friend consistently denied it in disbelief saying "Not on a festival day". What a f$%6ing blessed experience. It had turned out to be, indeed, a festival day.

After hearing a track of this show on Jam_on I knew I had to get this show. I was going to get the dvd but it didn`t have the whole show. Luckily LP downloads had it. This show lives up to any expectations that you could have for two great guitar players such as Trey & Carlos. You could tell Carlos was enjoying the freedom of improvised jamming, the likes of only the TA band could do. And Trey was obviously ecstatic over jamming with a true legend. Definitely a classic gig!

This was by far the best Trey Anastasio Band show I had ever been too. Let alone one of my favorite all time concerts; seeing Trey and Santana trading riffs back all night long was amazing.

This show is the show. carlos and trey playing together is a thing in itself. "The way I feel", "John the revelator" and "Last tube" . I would write more, but just talking about this makes me want to listen to it and get down on some dank!

We have the DVD and i just downloaded this here and the magic flying between trey and carlos is awesome. Whole set 2 is sick, and The Way I Feel is like probly the coolest song ever. Why wouldnt they put Last Tube on the dvd?! I bet it`s the most unbelievable feeling to jam with someone SOO amzing. Carlos Santana, i have to say it, is soo much better than trey.

Trey Band played with Carlos Santana. They played 11 songs, which means that Trey and Santana jammed it out, and there`s virtually no way that could be a bad thing. Ever. Even if the rest of the band wasn`t there and Trey and Santana were up there alone. Incredible show. The Way I Feel is definitely the highlight of the show.
