6/2/2003 Fillmore Auditorium , Denver, CO

this was my first date with my current wife. she had never heard any of trey`s solo stuff, and seh went just to hang out with me. by the end of the first set she was a trey fan, and that dave to begin the second set was absolutely phenomenal. we still talk about this concert to this day, about how much fun we had together.

It may be the best song but Trey is not the best at singing it. I`ll take The Band any day on this one but Trey is always fun!!!!

It Makes No Difference is the best song ever. Period.

No one playing the vaccum. No one in a house dress. And yet it`s still pretty damn good. This is the first Trey show I`ve heard, and it is really good. The horns are killer, as are the backing vocals. The music is great, althought I don`t think that Trey had the best night of guitar. A lot of the solos from him sound like the "Down with Disease" solo, which ended up working out fine. The highlight of this would have to be the chilling Zepplin cover "Dazed and Confused" into an inspired "First Tube". I haven`t heard anything that good in a while. I think the best song off "Round Room" would have to be "Pebbles and Marbles", which done with horns, female backing vocals and an almost techno-drum beat kicked so much a**. That was just phucking amazing. The encore was great not only because it is a good song, but because of the lyric mentioing that the trumpet band isn`t rock n roll. I`m sure many Phish heads feel this way about the Trey solo stuff, but there is no reason for it. Even thouhg I like Phish a lot more, this is still some really good music and I`m definitly gonna check out Trey`s show next time he`s in town.

Trey and the band did a lot of rockin` and the Denver fans did a lot of talkin`
Thank you for the downloads, it gives me a chance to hear the more dynamic sections that were drowned out by crowd chatter. Amazing show otherwise. Dazed and Confused>First tube need I say more. (I could)

My first thought coming into the Fillmore was...why no Reds? Leaving, I found myself thinking...when can we do this again?

Red Rocks has an epic majesty that can overwhelm a listener, and the up close and personal charm of the fillmore proved an interesting counterbalance to the last two summers of Trey Hawk on the Rocks. I must admit that I was late to this show too :( My cousin was helping me move to my new place in Boulder that afternoon and we got caught up. So when we entered, I think during the Push on till the day, i knew we had some catching up to do.

Trey helped that endeavour with the Last Tube/Dazed Confused/First Tube set closer that brought me right up to speed. Very classy rendition of Dazed and Confused too I might add. We then were able to get down on the floor (1st set seats sucked...what can you expect being late though)

2nd set, with an eyefull of the band, filled the remaining void left by our tardiness. When you`re like 20 minutes into I think it was the simple twist up dave, and you turn to your friend and say `what song is this?`, you know something is going right. Some acoustica too, nice. Still looking for that acoustic rocky mtn. high someday though??? (gotta give johnny D. his props) Sultans brought me right back to the Coca Cola commercial* dancing in the pouring rain insanity of the previous summer, almost to the day. Keeping it tight all the way.
Looking forwards now, Utah. East Coasters should look into these epic western events, unparalled really. Latedown.

*my memory of the rain dancing was like some latino salsa freaky coca cola commercial, I don`t know why.

WOW, WOW, WOW. That is what I have to say about this show. I heard all the songs I wanted, plus some I didnt expect to see. Trey and the band were on throughout the entire show. Push on til day was great, dazed and confuesed brought me to a new level, and MLC was all i could ask for. The acoustic songs were great, and sultans of swing was a great encore. Trey band rocks, the filmore rocks and the phans rock, thanks to all and see you all on the summer tour and bonnaroo TN.

Wow. What an amazing show. Every single person was having a ball, and the best part was, no matter how much fun anybody had, Trey was enjoying himself more. That is the best quality to his live music- when he`s on, he is ON. Main highlights for me: Jen on Dazed and Confused, Cyro on Last Tube, The trey/Jen Dance in Push on `til the Day, and Inlaw. I yelled "Trey you are my idol" after Secret Smile and he nodded at me and said "Thanks." He also did the "Rock and Roll" sign with his index and pinky fingers, and stuck out his tongue at me at the end of Sultans of Swing. Trey- if you happen to read this, thanks for making my year. To sum up the show in a word--Energy.
