Slip, Stitch & Pass

   love it.  (12/8/2012 2:43:29 PM)

I'm a little surprised on some of these reviews. but, to each his own. I love the entire album from the first note to the last note. highly recommended it. it's got a little of everything. nice energy and crisp and clear solos.

This was recorder during the winter Europe tour. It's a great album, no one has mentioned how good the Jesus Left Chicago is. Slow and jazzy, Like a lot of music from this tour. This is one of my favorite albums, I'm surprised is hasn't gotten more love

Weird release, even at the time. Wolfman's is a clear inclusion but as a whole set this is merely not bad. It does justice to both the newly found funk side of Phish and the hard rock wailing side that both marked some new territory for the band. Still, there are better moments from the 97 tour to highlight. The Jesus Left Chicago jam also warrants inclusion but Taste and Hello My Baby and everything else on here are good, not great. Start with Denver 97 instead and limit your download money to W. Brother and Hey Zeus from this, then move on to 2009!

From their outstanding take on the Talking Heads 'Cities' to the Doors banter in 'Mike's' to the classic 'Wolfman's' this was one of my most played cassettes when I was in college drivin' around in my 1990 Chevy Celebrity back in college. Classic Phish right here.

One word: Woflman's..... dank show, fun from begining to start

Never fell in love with this Live release. It is worth it for this "Wolfman's Brother" because it was a turning point for the band's style of jammin'. The Funk of 97 was born right on this tune. But I would have preferred any Summer or Fall Tour release of 1997 to this one.
