How can you call these guys a JAM BAND when their average song is maybe 6 minutes? Its more like major marketing FM radio. Not sure I'm sold.... as I'm 27 minutes into a 37 minute DARKSTAR. Take that PHISH heads!

Holy crap... 85 songs played over the weekend!! All I can say is 'Thank You', and I am MORE excited to see you guys this summer (Mansfield, Knoxville & Bonnaroo for me) than I was before I heard these shows.

These shows sucked! Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I have seen every Phish show since 1983. They used to be soooooo much better before anybody even heard them. In fact, I would still like Phish if they just never played at all. Now they just sound lame and make too many mistakes. Worst jam band ever!
I'm just playing...I really like the sound of the band/recordings from this run.

Big ups to Phish Twitter for the updates and live Phish for the mp3's. Trey has some new nasty effects that take off in Split open and go full flight in Ghost. With 80 songs in a weekend there's going to be some vocal and instrument flubs but the feel is there, the intensity is renewed and the band is focused.
Rock and Roll, Limb and Ghost are very well executed, tight with purpose and give a taste of what this tour should be like...Back to big Trey, his new guitar effects are disgusting. Aside from his straight super solo sonic tone, he's got some new guns in his arsenal and u hear it full on in the Ghost solo. The vocals get "pretty pitchy dog" as Randy Jackson would say but with more shows comes more opportunities to get epic. Grreat job Phish!

Awesome run. This is the begining of a new era. Stoked to hear them ripping up Hampton! Great setlists delivered and free music thanks! Nice. Jones Beach just round the corner. So is it me or is Trey playing a new guitar with a new sound? Seems a little harsh, yeah? A bit jumpy, almost like he is not sure what it is made of or the capability of it yet. Anyone else think he is drowning out the other guys on stage? I'm just curious. I'm kinda missing the 1998 smooth and balanced Phish. The Divided Sky was tight and blissful. It only gets better from here! Theyre back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This show was unbelievable...and so was Friday night but for different reasons obviously. Yes there was rusty sections and "flubs" during the weekend...who cares!?!?!? It would be a huge mistake to expect the band to come out and play a perfect show that exemplified a classic 90's rager. The guys are in new places in their lives both musically, and personally I'm sure. It came out in these shows in a great way. The pressure really seemed to be off the guys after breaking the ice Friday night. They had gotten one of the shows under their belt and took the stage relaxed looking to have a good time on a beautiful Saturday night. There was a lot of talk between songs among the guys and judging from their smiles I think they were feeling good with where things were and are. Overall the show(s) was full fledged rock insanity but I'm writing this review to point out my personal highlight and to suggest that we mention the FUNK that oozes from the Wolfmans!!!!!!!!! Did anyone else notice the crispness in Mike's tone? His bass came through in the mix both live and on the tracks much sharper and clearer than I've experienced before...Tommy likey. Bravo.
