I sat back for the second day in a row and just enjoyed the sheer positive force that these four guys bring into the world with their music. It brought me to giant smiles and laughter of joy. So let go of your petty reviews and magnum opus comparisons. They say their in for the long haul, so enjoy the company of sound once again and be thankful for the fact that we all get to build to new heights.

i think the shows are great, for the first time back in over 4 years. getting to those jams, of the late 90's, will take time. the amount of songs in a set are like early 90's shows. dig on while it you can, cause like the 90's they will be gone quickly. they'll get there again

Oh...don't be so critical. This weekend is a celebration for all of us...can't expect 90's phish anymore and especially this weekend. Just be glad their back. I think it has all sounded great even though there have been lots of flubs and miscues. That's what makes phish phish for me. All good...

   phishy go away...its not 1993 anymore  (3/8/2009 3:33:27 PM)

phishy, no one is forcing you to download these shows or even support the band anymore. If you were a real phan, you'd be happy with whatever path the band has decided to take. Don't like what you hear? Then keep your mouth closed and go away. Phish dosen't cater to your needs. They play what they want when they want. Quit living in the mid 90's and accept that the band has changed. I happen to really dig these shows and i wasn't at hampton. If your in love with mid 90's phish so much then build a fucking time machine and go live in 1994. What do all these complainers hope to acheive? Please do everyone who still appreciates quality musicianship a favor and go away. thanks - a phish fan living in the year 2009.

I'm not sure what shows you are comparing the new ones to, but it has to be the last tour. Phish used to play 5 song sets and jam the whole time when I was on tour with them. Now they play 3 times that and end us with pathetic studio version jams such as the train wreck ghost from tonight. Go download a show from the late nineties then listen to how they are jamming to those songs this weekend and make a review not based on the emotion of how cool it is to be in Hampton but on how generic and pre-rehearsed the jams are this weekend.

Friday night was a great gift! Looking forward to giving last nights show a listen! Its only gonna get better from here.. work out the kinks, get in the groove. Very excited to see Mikes Groove at the end of the 2nd set! Cant wait to see how it sounds!

I can get used to this...how about a free phish show every morning?
