After listening to the entire first leg of Summer I'd have to put this show in the top 5. An overall solid effort to close out a three night run I had the pleasure of attending from start to finish. One critique I'd give the second set is the Free. It wasn't terrible or anything, but it was pedestrian. As if they played it just for the sake of playing it. Personally would have rather they used the set time stretching out Piper or Twist Around a little longer. Speaking of Piper, does anyone else wish they would go back to giving the intro a bit more time like they used to and really build up to the lightning speed? All in all though this show is a strong showing from the boys. MFMF, Split, Theme, and especially Boogie on were all well played versions that anchored a high energy 1st set, and the DWD->Twist with a well placed Oye jam gets a fun second set going in Grand fashion. While the 2001->Slave does have a minor miscue here or there it is by no means sloppy or weak. A damn fine way to close out a set if you ask me. I was also pleasantly surprised that BDT#L held the energy up. I initially thought it was gonna bring the energy down, but it actually got the crowd going even more. Oh and while this has very little to do with whether or not you wanna D/L this show, the crowd energy was by leaps and bounds greater than the first two nights. All in all, I think it's unrealistic for any of us to attend Phish shows this summer and expect an all time great. I am hoping for SOLID each time and for the most part I think we're getting that and that this show is a great example of that.

Gotta admit every time i look at this show, i think "wow this is actually a great set list" and then i listen to it again and realize it just gets better and better. To Free!!!: i defiantly want to agree with ur comment about mikey on the bass he really did sound good. Also wanted to comment on Kill Devil Falls i like it a lot better than the other new ones

This was a good show. . .not the best of the tour. That would have to be 6-7-09 or 6-21-09, but this was in the middle. . .not as bad as anything from 04 except perhaps 6-19 was a tad better. Highlights for me: MFMF was played very well, and that is not an easy song to play. The Free had a great bass jam (Go MIKE!!!) Gordon is so the man. . .the 2001 was very funky indeed. . .a great version! Ya Mar was fun, although I wish Trey woulda screamed the whole Kottke thing instead of just kinda whispering 'leo is gonna play it for ya' thing. Theme is one of my favorite songs ever, but this jam of it was only decent, not amazing. The Boogie On was great though, once again due mostly or at least in part to Mike's great playing and Page did some great, wierd sounding organ and keyboard sounds during Boogie. Slave is such a great song and this version was about average. Gotta love a Beatles cover to close. . .I prefer Cry Baby Cry or While My Guitar. . .but this one is good too. Overplayed, but good. All in all a 7.1 outa 10. Worth 10 bucks only if u have lots of extra dough or are like me and so obsessed w Phish that u have to get all the shows to catelog, compare, and Stash:)
