the crowd response in hood was thundering i can remember being about the only person to scream HOOD the first time around and by the second hood the whole section had it down. and mikes bass was way better compared to the Pa show i saw, their he brought the funk in yem but that would have been better if the bass was turned up as much as it was in chicago.

There is no bad phish show just better phish shows but im sure some one could argue with that its just my opinion

STOP THROWING G-STICKS AT THE GUYS ITS RUDE........FUCKIN DUMB DRUNK CHICAGOANS

see ya in Motown and the Queen City

Well...upon listening a few more times the mix is not as sweet as I first thought. Where's Mike in the mix? He is totally buried. The AUD's are all bass. Too much if you ask me.

Solution: Matrix Mix!

The Hampton shows sound totally perfect. Please do the matrix mixes on the Fall tour releases.

BDTNL is out of this world!

I downloaded this show the day after i saw it.... i wanted to comment on it then but figured i would listen to it again before i did.... i have got to say it was a fantastic show live.... but after a few months and a few hundred times listening to it now i literally have got to say that the show kicked serious ass... i feel they are different then the old phish i grew up on but then again that is to be expected as they constantly grow and mature as individuals and musicians... as a musician I like where they are going with their music and look forward to see where they will go in the future.... i will always respect them for the fantastic moments they have created and all the joy and inspiration their music has brought to me

The mix on this is soooooo sweet! Well worth the price. It blows the AUD's away.

FANTASTIC SHOW! I LOVE THE NEW SONGS! PHISH 2009 IS UNBELIEVABLE!

It feels like a dream.

McGill, I totally understand what you are saying about how they make songs different each time. Backwards Down the Number Line was a lot different in Chicago than at Deer Creek. All I am saying is that they overplayed some stuff this summer (I heard 2001, Backwards Down the Number Line, Kill Devil Falls, Ocelot, Sample in a Jar, Time Turns Elastic, and Train Song all twice and I only went to four shows). As you know their catalog is very deep, why not play a little bit of everything and make each night even more unique. Phish is a far way from going the way of DMB thank god (went to my first DMB concert this summer and was very disappointed, never wasting money on that again even though the girls were nice). I believe Phish fans hold their band to a very high standard which is both good and bad. In the end though it's all about having fun and I'm glad their back and look forward to seeing them again next year at Alpine.

I too agree with McGill.
The main reason we all love this band is the jams, the fresh, in the moment perspective each song gets. Setlists do matter but they only provide a guiding light for what could go anywhere. I expect as the tours pile up, over what I hope are several more years of live Phish, the sets will get even more diverse. I think the slow and steady approach to building the song list for tour this summer has been wise, in that they aren't biting off more than they can chew. If they tried to pull out the whole 200+ list of songs all at once, we'd be sure to hear more big flubs and then the know-it-alls (y'all are booorinng by the way) would be knocking them.

Wouldn't it be interesting if just once Matt Butler (Everyone Orchestra) got to have Phish be his band for a set? Not at a Phish show but as a separate thing.
Imagine the band Phish as your instrument. Aww man, I've got a little drool on my chin.

I LOVE PHISH! THANK YOU TREY, JON, MIKE, and PAGE for bringing more love to us all. The future is very bright. Can't wait for 8! It will be a JOYous occasion...PARTY TIME!

I completely agree McGill. Thats what Im always tryin to say to people here who post about a certain Song. Songs mean nothing when reading a setlist...they are vehicles for jams. A great example is the Backwards Down the Number Line at SPAC. All summer it was just a regular song with nice musicianship but only type I jams then they expand it and use it as a vehicle for a nasty space jam. Great stuff. Everything I heard on this tour I liked. Even songs I dont care for. Cant wait for more.

For Wisco the dip wad! I have been to 104 shows, never a bad one but some obviously better than others. During numerous runs (including last 7 of late Summer) Phish played NUMEROUS repeats. Hell, they played Sample in back-2-back nights. Didi I bitch because I have internal wants and desires of songs I prefer to hear etc....? HELL NO! Why? The song had the same name but were completly diffrent vibes, sounds and versions. both were ripped and I am not a huge Sample fan. But someone may be and good for them as that may be their memory. Point being, Dave Crapews Band plays the same shit, each night and it doesnt change. Like listening to a radio or studio version. They lack the Jams and dont freak! Phish could never go that low, unless they dressed up like women in dresses and played vaccums as instruments, oh wait, they do that and it is freaking BAD ASS! Next time, dont compare a cracked and molded walnut to a field of Grade A Organic Funk! I vote they play 1 song sets for back to back shows to show you, the name of a song is only the name! Not the Journey or Vessel!
