This was my first concert. I have listened to almost all of their live stuff and must say that this tour sounded great. Beautiful day, good people and great sets. I do love the really long jams but I must say on this night, short was sweet. Dinner and a movie was a nice treat. Wolfman's brother is now my favorite live version. Possum is always good and Page was cranking it out. I loved Sugar Shack. I used to party in a sugar shack when I was a kid in the country. Good version of David Bowie. Drowned and Darien Jam were fantastic. However...Run Like an Antelope was for me by far the greatest live version of any Phish song I have ever heard. It was simply and absolutely rediculous. I was so floored by this version that I called my buddy and held up the phone. when it was over I felt priveledged to have been there to hear it. Suzy...always great. Fluffhead? Couldn't believe that! First Tube was a great ending. I was bumbed when it was over. From now on, everytime they tour I will see at least one show. My buddy said he couldn't wipe the smile off of his face the entire next day. Could have been the acid though. Thanks guys for one of the greatest nights of my life!!!

This was a great show. The energy was on, the set list was teeming with gems!
Set I
Sample: I don't love this song as an opener; I feel it lacks the energy needed to really suck the crowd in. But I enjoy the tune; it was a straight forward version.
Dinner: Great placement, if the opener left me cold, they quickly redeemed themselves with this little gem. I forget what a great song this is because i don't ever hear it!
Wolfman's: Been to three shows so far this summer, and I've heard from the brother at each of those shows. This is a good version, but not the best of the summer.
My friend: Another Treat! Well played too! Was liking this set so far.
Possum!: Great energetic and fun, this song was on! if only to be marred by the follow up.
Farmhouse: Placed right, this isn't a bad song; But it wasn't placed right tonight. Far from right even. They hadn't even finished possum before trey was telling us that this is a farmhouse. This was the low point of the night, it severed the energy.
Sugar Shack: At this point i was afraid they were sinking the set. Don't get me wrong, the shack they played tonight was miles ahead of what was debuted at Camden, with tighter playing and better singing. But it is not a good song live. Out of all the songs off of the new album, this is the one I'm most curious to hear, because i get the sense that it sounds great once you apply some studio wizardry, but from the lawn it's just a dud.
Brian and Robert: Love this song, in both it's forms, but i was itching to rock again.
David bowie: This is the absolute highlight of the first set, fantastic version, especially in the middle. But I thought this is a Little premature if this is the set closer. . .
Bathtub: WOW! I was expecting short closing song - cavern perhaps? - but not the gin! Another strong outing.
How High: This was fun! First, I had wondered with all of trey's recent troubles what state - if any - his marriage was in. SO it was nice to hear trey reference his "Love and best friend" on their anniversary. Then, dedicating this to the Late Les Paul, The played a tight, but brief, version of How High The Moon. It was a great little time capsule; I felt like i was watching the band circa 1988!
Golgi: Will never complain about the apparatus. IT had the weirdest start that I've ever heard. I ran into a very close friend with whom i hadn't seen in ten years. On our last meeting -the Albany 99 shows - he was lamenting that he misses the notes trey used to play at the end of Golgi, and how they were replaced by some fast strumming or something nondescript. I was hoping that 10 years later he would get his wish, but it was not to be!
Overall: This set gets an solid 8.5! IT has everything you could want from a first set: Some heavy hitters ( Bathtub, Bowie, Wolfmans) Some breakouts ( How high the moon, Dinner and a movie) and a lot of fun song in between ( my friend, Possum). It did have it's duds ( Sugar shack, Farmhouse) That keep this from being a perfect first set.

Set II
In an effort of full disclosure That friend I mentioned above gave me his ticket for absolute front row, so of course I loved this set, but will be as objective as possible in my review.
Drowned: I remember the last time time the boys rolled into Darien, I missed the whole first set due to traffic and was completely soaked running in to catch the opening notes of drowned. I Remember that show not so much as fondly, but well. I thing the band does too. This was one of the many repeats we got from that show, and Who could complain. I love This cover and usually feel we get great jams when they play it. Tonight Was no exception.
Caspian: Another 2000 throwback. I Always forget how much I like this song until i hear it. Good choice.
Rift: Never saw it coming ! My first rift since the Wheel and I loved every minute of it. a Perfect choice in such a energetic show!
Silent: I usually bemoan a silent plopped into the of the second set, but tonight it worked- a good breath catcher.
Sparkle: Again, not what i want in a second set, but this was a fast and furious sparkle. And during the speed up, it was very fun to see the security guards turn around and watch because they couldn't deny what the boys were doing.
Antelope: Now this is was my favorite moment of the show: after sparkle the band was deciding what to play, I see trey tell mike something that to me seem to be ya mar. Mike, in turn, Walks over to Fishman and says something that even More so seems like ya mar. So I was expecting Ya mar. And SO was the band, because when trey begins playing the opening to antelope, I see page flash a look and Trey Just shrugs and grins Ear TO ear at him, like the dog who just stole Sunday dinner and doesn't care that he got caught, because it was so good. And Boy was it! This antelope matched the previous set's bowie for sheer ridiculousness. And Been you to have any High hat cymbal man!
Suzy!: another Great choice, ENERGY!!
Fluffhead: Well played for the most part, Fluff played the set out in true fashion!
Overall: This set gets an 8, Just great energy and playing. Fantastic.
Encore:
Joy/first tube: I've come to love Joy It's that rare phish song that starts off reflective and then has a chorus that is better the louder it's sung. and when it followed by a monstrous first tube, you have a great encore!
I feel the only point to posting on this site should be to answer one question: is this show worth downloading, and how do you support your case. This show is worth downloading, especially for the Bowie and antelope. Although it will be forever overshadowed by the next night . . . .

Darien was a gerat show on many levels. A beautiful day. Happy people enjoying the lot having a good time. I was reunited with a special person in my life who I hadn't seen in a while. He hooked me up with a ticket and things as a gesture of thanks for all the times I had helped him. This show was filled with an amazing song selection, well played and the crowds energy was out of this world. Gotta love that combination - most people I saw were enjoying themselves. My friend called the opener Sample which I think is fun...simple smiles and good times.. Dinner and a movie was a treat. Wolfmans jammed out providing good dancing. I enjoyed Brian and Robert. David Bowie explored fun regions. Bathtub gin always gets me going, I love Page on this one and how the whole band builds the song, it jams. Treys tribute to Les Paul was nice, his contribution to the music world has brought a lot of joy for many music lovers. I called the Gogali as an opener but it works as an upbeat closer. Second set was full of treats for me. Drowned went into a jam that was fun. I like Prince caspian and haven't heard it in while. Rift rocked and is something I haven't heard often. I was excited about Horse into silent in the morning. My friend looked at me and just laughed at the start of Sparkle, thanks buddy. Antelope got my soul into gear. I thought this was going to close the set but up came Suzy, a fun funky version. When traversing the lot during the day this was my pick to the question I was asking people about what the one song they thought the band would play that night. Fluffhead was awesome - OH YEAH! very well played. Great set list for me. I was on the lawn for most of the show and by the bathrooms for some level ground to spin on. The sound was good at both spots. The encores were good. This was the first time I had heard Joy, I liked it. I liked the lyrics and the groove, I think the new material is good stuff. First Tube saw Trey take us into outer space for the close of a great show. Thanks for playing together again, you are back with a vengence and playing great. Cali should be amazing. How about some west coast shows leading up to the festival?? Peace out.

The last one I saw was Coventry.....and we all know how that turned out!!!! It was good to see the band tight and having a great time. It really turned me right back on to Phish. Dinner and a movie...awesome!!!!!!!
