6/2/2009 Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, Wantagh, NY

Hey guys a little help  (7/23/2009 11:13:56 AM)

There is a drug form where some idiot has decided to make a poll which bashes phish and says they suck. He has made some questions to answer. I know it has nothing to do with the show reviews, but I can only vote once, I want to shut this guy up. please go to this link and vote!

These shows have brought back a lot of my confidence after listening to these three night. I have such strong feelings about the West cost tour and Midwest show in Chicago. It is going to be an even better august. Thought the sound mixing after millennium has been better a few times, I don't think I like the overall sound better after 2003 onwards on most shows. The light obviously will continue getting better thats technology and money not performance related, now with all these super huge Amphitheaters from Nikon and airlines lights and tech will grow every year.

So what's wrong with being a "Trustafarian"?

this is the first show I dl'd this summer. Good runthroughs of both jim and foam. Stealing time from the faulty plan is a great new song- I really like the song both lyrically and musically- I think it has real potential to space out for 18 minutes afterwhich you will have a blank space where your mind should be. Reba is enjoyable as always, but not great by any means. Great runthrough of Timber Ho. Cities is nice and funky. Nice to see If I could return to setlists- kind of unusual as set closer however, and a bit rusty after a long hiatus(although still nice to hear). Good Mikes song, simple is pretty sloppy overall and the timing is just too slow for how I like simple played. Wolfman's is always good, and the primary element lacking from this rendition was about 4 more minutes of funk before transitioning to weekapaugh. Kill Devil Falls isnt a bad tune, it has good energy and a very BOAFish jam, and seems to be well played here although I think it would be better placed in the first set. Hood is good, and kinda spaces out for a moment before coming back to the finish, which ends up being a bit disjointed. All in all an enjoyable show to listen to, but not the best by any means.

In the parking lot before the show i met a man by the name of Chase Anderson and he told me a story so convincing and real about the exact location of the Rhombus and it's magical contents, that i miracled my ticket, got into my van and the next thing i know, I'm in a Thai hotel room with a manaquin that looks just like Trey! IS CHASE ANDERSON GOD? IS TREY?

I am glad this blogging forum did not exist back when I was seeing hundreds of Phish shows.....too many opinions that add no value to the music or the band. "Don't steal my tickets" are you the epitome of a generation Y Facebook Trustafarian? I do have to agree with a couple comments from the blog however:
1) I agree the sound mix is much more even between the guys now from prior to the milennium.
2) The light show is much better and in sync with the music now.
3) Live music is what it is all about!!!

Very glad for the band and us fans that Trey got clean and the guys got back together for however long they decide to continue.....2009, 10, 11...

The Reba, while not completely fulfilled, is soooo pretty in the quiet sections and so much better than years past...I haven't listened to the whole show yet, but I hear the boys fulfilling what I heard from them in Hampton, which is reviving the spirit of the glory years and broadcasting the sheer joy of the music. Listening to Possum now, and yeah, it's great!! Phish really is back!
