Ho-Humm... I don't know, it seems something is missing. "Can THEY still have FUN?" With a few exceptions, it sounds like they're just running through the songs, no surprises, or fresh attacks on the breaks. Perfect example: Cavern. On the 4 bar breaks between verses, Trey comes in with the exact same note, and holds it with very little variation like three or four times in a row. Where's the spark?
I was lucky enough to catch like 150 shows from '93-'98. They were always smiling on stage, laughing, it was fun for everybody. Now it sounds like they're working. Do they still smile?

WOW GUY you said it best that whoever criticizes a critic has WAY too much time on their hands. My original post was that I missed what looks like a great show, AND BEING FORTUNATE to have seen A LOT of them in the past few months, I missed my favorite song by ONE NIGHT yet again. Backwards down the number line IS the bathroom song because it is in an every other show rotation, as is antelopes and YEM, so only the people that have been touring know what I am talking about. SO ON THAT NOTE, SHUT THE FUCK UP OR SUCK A FAT ONE, and get your ass to a show instead of complaining to everyone about something that you weren't there for. UTICA set the fucking bar it was a monster of a show and Im really glad I drove out to Manch vegas tonight too, CAUSE HALLOWEEN IS GONNA BE SMOKIN' SEE YOU THERE UNLESS YOUR LAME ASS IS GONNA HANG OUT AT HOME WRITING YOUR SHIT FAKE ASS REVIEWS TRYING NOT TO GET CAUGHT MASTURBATING IN THE FAMILY COMPUTER ROOM

Phishhead has it right on. These guys are phriggin shredding the rooves off these nights, and I'm honored to be a part of it. It has and continues to change my life for the better. "Blows my blues away..."! Absolutely epic what their doing each night! I'm hoping there are years left, but we have to seize the show. Taking a deep breath, closing our eyes, and listening to this fall tour will illuminate the bridges on the roads of enlightenment. Take only memories leave only footprints. The boys are seriously on it.

Wow, I thought this was a music review of a specific night! This stuff is way too personal. It was a great show because they just played it! I followed the Grateful Dead for years (yeah I'm one of them). I have really grown to love Phish and I'm grateful that I've been blessed with the opportunity to see them get back together a couple of times. That's something that Grateful Dead fans will NEVER get. Phil and Friends and Ratdog are still not the Grateful Dead period! I think this nitpicking is akin to standing next to a great artist and TELLING THEM to use more yellow more yellow. Who the Fuck is the artist. Be happy with what you have now. Remember the times when the "called it quits" and how you felt. One day there WILL be a LAST show period!!!!
