BEST HALLOWEEN SHOW TO DATE
|
They had a tough night to follow from 10/30 but still pulled off a great show. Although I am a HUGE Little Feat fan I was sort of sorry to see the choice on the bill. Waiting For Columbus was NOT Feat's best live effort. It wasn't even close. It was recorded at a very tense time for the band. At least we have a great live album from the band but why Phish chose this I'm unsure. Page mentioned in the show bill that his first love for Feat came from the Boston 75 show. That is one of the greatest Feat concerts captured on tape. PHISH SHOULD HAVE PLAYED THAT ENTIRE SHOW. The setlist was better and a much more accurate sample of a Feat show. The Boston 75 show was even recorded on Halloween. PERFECT! Phish should have played Feat's 10-31-75 Boston show on Halloween 2010. ...especially if that particular tape meant so much to Page.
Enough complaining. Still a great album, great costume and great fun!
The 1st and 3rd sets were great too. Nothing too out there but they played the crazy card the night before.
Highlights for me were Spooky, Boogie On, Fat Man, Spanish Moon, Day Or Night, Sailin Shoes, Back On The Train > Jiboo > Camel Walk.
The Dw/D flub (for what it's worth) was Trey's fault. Funny flub though.
Fish should have really learned the chords to Willin' and played acoustic. That song without an acoustic is really a very weak song. It doesn't even sound country.
What a fantastic weekend for all who were there.

When it comes to shows, there are a lot of nay sayers out there. Knoxville 2009, was a great show the sleeper of the tour which blew the roof off the place. The gorge that summer is arguably one of the best shows of 2009 and 2010. Phish at the gorge always offers the best of the band. Read the bands statements regarding the 97 shows. Quit the whining and enjoy the music. Every show has the potential to be the best, you can cry about it all you want, but fact of the matter is this we all have gotten our minds blown at one time or another. Is your mind better then mine its a debate. Just leave with a smile and get to the next show and enjoy.

Speak for yourself "phish will never be what they were" were all having a great time and you're the One making a stupid comparison, I also disagree with the statement. Have fun being you.

a horrible recording, a great show. i bought this show in hd-flac format (for this show, hd-flac = 48 kHz/24-bit), and it sounds like garbage.
the music has been compressed/limited to hell and back and there is constant crackling and distortion due to the excessive loudness throughout. the audio has been compressed/limited so much that there is virtually no dynamic range -- how can there be when the songs have an average RMS of -5 dBFS (even louder in some instances). what is the point of offering 24-bit audio when you are only going to use the top 8-10 bits?
the distortion/clipping/crackling caused by this over-the-top loudness makes the show almost unbearable to listen to. don't waste your money on this download. it is a shame this recording came out so bad . . . the show itself was phantastic.
