6/19/2012 NTELOS Wireless Pavilion, Portsmouth, VA

Gin is when it started taking off, the split open>mango was the hilight for me, the SOAM especially, lengthwise was a treat and I remember the maze being a much better than usual one, Overall the show was really great but of the 9 i hit this summer, not the best, but I'll say that this band seemed to 1up themselves night after night, and that's a ban dyou wanna be touring with! So just cause i'm not ravin about this show does not mean its not an ammmmmazing show, fareal the split open mango was a hilight of the 9 i saw.

In the evening I undue my belt, split open and tuck! Move over Rover and let the tucker take over! Phuckin' hilarious!

I went to the Portsmouth Shows and AC and this one was my favorite of the bunch. The antics...the song selection...the venue. Whenever they play P-Town...I'll come out from Colorado. Mostly because I was born there and the joke growing up was that rain didn't even come to Portsmouth...but now Phish does :) I am 100 percent at this venue. Great show...would see again. Alos checkout the Saturday AC show. that was awesome too.

I'm 50 and saw Phish for the first time at the 6/19 Portsmouth show, bringing my 16-year-old son with me as a birthday present to him (he's a burgeoning hippie - I'm so proud!). All I can say is, I get it. I get why people LOVE this band and their concerts. The whole vibe - from the parking lot crowd outside to the fans on the grass inside, to the band itself - was about just having a good time and respecting everyone's right to have a good time in their own way. Even the drunks were well-intentioned! Going to a Phish concert is like hanging out with thousands of your closest friends. I get it.

Credit to Phish and their fans: I've been to a buttload of concerts from age 15 to now and know what to expect, so in bringing my own son I was pretty attentive to spotting those things ahead of him (to at least have some control over them). Needless to say my paternal concerns were soothed. This was possibly the coolest event I could have brought him to. We'll be back.

I'm 67 and fairly new to Phish. I have to thank my 28 yearold son for turning me on to them. I download most of their shows and I really like their music. My roots in music go back to Hank Williams so I've been a music nut for 60 years. These guys are fun and talented and I love the fans.

I go to shows for a great party. The music is just part of it. The band having fun and engaging the audience is a fantastic addition to the party. People bitching about the music is not a good party. People who bitch about the music suck hard at tucking.

so.....read the whole slew of reviews from this site and it's upsetting.....I was at this show and I can tell you - out of the 187 shows I've been to - this is in my Top 5 purely because of the fun the band was having playing what they did; the crowd at P-town was perfect and the energy was soaring...word to the wise; if you hate the sounds coming from Phish these days then stay in the lot or stay home; from here on out these boys are for serious heads only. i'll c y'all in burg then SPAC, then Charolette....

1.0 vs 3.0......type II vs. type I......10 min vs. 20 min.......blah, blah, blah

Come on.....Seriously people. There is more to this band than comparing one with the other. Do yourslef a favor: listen to a show without looking at the setlist before hand, do not keep looking at your watch during each song, put the iphones away at the concerts (those videos are horrible anyway), and don't think about what year it is or what this band did on any other night. Thank your lucky stars that phish does not attempt to play a repeat of any show from there past. If that happens, all is lost. If you don't like what you are hearing while at the show or after downloading, find another band to listen to. No one is interested in negative vibes around here or at the shows. If you are interested in negative vibes, you are hopeless and will never get it.

Oh, yeah! This show is outstanding all the way!!! Yes, it is not a huge jam fest but so what... This is wacky phish at it's finest. Sit back, listen, laugh and most importantly HAVE FUN.
