7/1/2012 Alpine Valley Music Theatre , East Troy, WI

Never mind the slurs below.

This show contains one and a half near-perfect sets, and the rest is well done. Your friends will not know who they are listening to until Trey tears into that solo in Cowboy Bill. Vultures is executed to perfection. The Jiboo has a thick thick groove, unrushed, not quite dragging; extraordinary actually. Dirt is its reverent best. Song I Heard the Ocean Sing is the finest version since 2.0, Meat->Frankenstein is full of humor, fun, great solos, endless pauses, and a massive bang! Fee? Fuck that! What a jam! Maze! A band in the zone! Coil. Yes, Fishman does stumble a little at first, but that's the last of it. An excellent version.

Set 2? Everything is done above average for the first four songs, and that Light->Ghost is must-hear. Delicate free form intricate jams that cover a ton of ground. The band at its masterful best. Back on the Train is an arrival. The following tunes are well dune, but it's clearly the cool down. If you haven't heard, the 46 Days rages over the top here, and I'm not usually much inspired by that one.

One of my friends danced on stage during the encore. The band keeps finding creative ways to make these 20,000 person capacity venues seem small, intimate and connected.

This one goes out to all those male homosexual phish phans! Wave that flag! Move those loafers! I love a party in my mouth!

this show is awesome. i like every phish show i go to. if i could id go to every one. access me and fee were on my list of songs ive been wanting to see live. they still rock, my onnnly wish these days is for trey to incorporate the loops more and too keep them going.... maybe trey feels less is more these days but i really loved the 97, 98, 99 loop action.

This was my FIRST Phish show. The guitarist in my band loves Phish and we play a version of Tweezer. He has been begging me to try out a show. GREAT!! We were front row in the pit by the drum kit. Great mix, great set list and fantastic fans!!! I was so impressed by the spectical that is Phish, fans are so friendly, Glow sticks everywhere. The band is tight and can really make an evening FUN. Great job. I am a Trey fan from Oysterhead and loved the show!!! First timers will be very impressed if they come with nothing but appreciation for music. FANTASTIC!!! First time was the best time, hey, thats a song lyric!!!!

Whats with all the negative vibes these days surrounding phish? I get it, they are waaaay over the hill. No drugs equals no exploration what so ever. But comon. Give it a rest. These guys are still playing a ton of songs every night and laughing all the way to the bank.

had a blast, caught friday at deer creek then the alpine weekend. no complaints at all from this guy. 46 days and crosseyed-no quarter were the high lights for me. of course a meat stick encore was fun too.

This was my favorite show so far this leg of the tour. Every song was very tight. Plus, us lucky ones were able to see Mike in the lot with his family. He even played stand up bass with a local bluegrass band. Very good show all around... Made it worth the drive!
