"This was a great box set back in the day, it had a lot of rare and fun songs all in one cool two sided magnetic box set. I compare every possum to this one, I love the loooong build up. SOAMelt is a banger, Bathtub Gin is one of my favorite versions, Harry Hood is definitely a favorite of mine. Boogie On into NICU was nice. The Foam is wild. These shows sound excellent, I wish they’d mastered more of the all timer shows in the vault the way they did this one. They played a lot of songs for these shows! I appreciate the Cry, Baby, Cry, Train Song, Waste, Driver, Dogs Stole Things, covers Quinn the Eskimo, Funky Bitch, Roses are Free, Bold as Love. Well played fellas "

"in january 2001 i bought the latest Grateful Dead boxset and wasnt impressed with it. so i took it a local used/new cd shop. i told the guy it was like new but said he couldnt let me walk out of the store with a hundred bucks he called the owner asking what he could give me. in the middle of his conversation i saw it: the hampton box set unwrapped on the shelf. i pointed to it and said can i trade for that he said sure. it was one the best decisions ive ever made. i drove home to throw it in my computer. the only other livephish i had was vol. 2. but this was something else. listening to tube, quinn the eskimo, funky bitch and guelah papyrus i knew i made a good choice. it took me months to even listen to the other discs i liked the first one that much. everything on this box set is gold there are no weak moments. i agree with others this a must have in your phish collection."
