"‘‘Twas an excellent show. Met Mike before the show out by his bus and I just happened to have his 2014 tour poster with me that I had mounted on a wood back. He was impressed with my keepsake and gladly signed it and then my wife snapped a whole bunch of pics that he patiently posed with me for. There was no one else around but us as it was early afternoon so he made all the time in the world which of course was pretty damn cool. Crazy sometimes opener was a great way to start the show and the first set closer of Destiny was still a very rare treat even though it’s resurfaced since ‘09. Still only my second ever Destiny so for me, a nuggie indeed. Second set flowed nicely with new tunes from O GO GO , and some unexpected covers Mike has played in the past. Ruby Soho was perfectly placed and a whole bunch of fun. Although Sweet Emotion was a first for me and very well played, I was hoping for more than one song from his 2014 Overstep release which let’s face it is his very best effort to date (imho) but no complaints here. And then after the show Mike was in the Merch booth signing shit and met him again albeit with hundreds around this time but he actually recalled our afternoon encounter and asked if I enjoyed the show. Reminded me of the 1.0 days before ‘92 where the band was often accessible to the audience before and after the shows. GO SEE MIKE WHEN HE COMES TO TOWN is what I hope you get from this review. "
