Show Notes

* Friday night before the festival began, the band played an extended sound check and broadcast the entire jam the radio for everyone who was stuck in traffic to enjoy   * Saturday night at 2AM the band magically appeared atop the control tower of the former Loring Air Force Base and played an improvisational set while the tower was bathed in lights and dancers on rappel lines swirled in synch with the music and lights

"All timer, if you haven’t listened you need to. The largest range of their musical and dynamic capabilities you will get- mousey quiet cuddles to liquid metal funneled in your ear. It is just true- this was them on 20 years of intense practice, their documented heaviest use of dr*gs, probable delusions of grandeur given the size of this fest, and still being kids. Mathematically it makes sense! As for Mr. Wilson below- if any of you hear your friends talking about nonverbal messages or fate like that, particularly days after the show, just check on them and make sure they understand what they are saying. Early signs of stuff. He obviously made it through the following decade after this show. Maybe I’m wrong. "

"Skipped Camden to drive to Maine from Philly and glad I did. We were in and cozy hearing tales of how bad the traffic was. What a night. Tower jam was unreal spectacle of wookery. Souls were aligned, friends were met, zero sleep was to be found :)"

"After the terrible traffic getting in, and even after Trey being very obviously intoxicated to any of us in the crowd, they still pulled off some of my favorite versions of a couple jams. hands down my favorite ghost ever. "

"Drove 10 hours to then wait who knows how long to get inside. Does anyone remember the free LivePhish Sampler CD they handed out at the vehicle entrance? I still have mine!! Was 25 years old with a group of my best friends. Such an amazing experience and the band was all in. Just wish I didn’t sleep through the tower jam, why didn’t they give us a heads up? The shows started at like 6-7 and went til midnight. Very long amazing sets. This is still my favorite Phish to this day, it holds up and brings back only the best memories "

"IT was a very special weekend way up on the border of Maine and Canada. Kicking off the festival is an incredible first set. The Ya Mar > Runaway Jim > Reba > Birds is all top quality Phish. The Reba is the best post hiatus Reba they’ve played and holds up to any era. The second set is all great and gets into some dark jamming, especially in DWD and Waves (best version I think). The third set is one continuous jam that is one of the best sets in 2003. Really an amazing show and deserving of its all-time status on Phish.net. "
