"One of the greatest things they ever recorded. "

"I originally got this from the catalog in the fall of ‘99 along with the White Tape. At the time, I was obsessed with the early sound and basically ignored the Siket Disc after one or two listens. Obviously, I had a lot to learn. I got to hear What’s the Use in Boston last summer, it was nice as that almost-rained out Fenway show drifted past the curfew, but the song barely registered at the time. This sound is pretty amazing. Thinking about Radiohead ca. 2000-2001 (Kinetic, off the Amesiac extras, comes to mind), I wonder now if Thom Yorke was listening to Insects in ‘99. Another reviewer said Page deserved a Grammy for his work cultivating this album and given Radiohead’s Grammy success with their version of this sound on Kid A couple years later, I couldn’t agree more. Maybe, like me, the awards folks weren’t ready for this sound from the likes of Phish, but it just shows how imaginative they have, pretty much *always* been. Also, I think Fish has actually been Thom Yorke’s drum machine this whole time, that’s all I’m saying."

"Do you think they’ll ever do Quadrophonic Toppling again? Best track on the album and best song of Big Cypress. Side note: I’ll be at Mohegan if the band feels like playing it there........"

"Am I mistaken, or is Trey channeling the Voodoo Chile on "What's the Use"? That track is so burning hot!"

"Just got my vinyl Siket disc in the mail and I'm splitting open and melting! Totally groovy straight up mesmerizing Phish jamming, and the vinyl sound is unmatched. Gonna be on my turntable for awhiiiile. Loving it; thanks guys??"
