"found this one on youtube. webcast. set one. i gotta say, i was grooving. really with it, especially in the area of curtain with, wombat, kill devil falls, bouncing around the room, and i'm not a huge fan of kdf. the good times were rolling. i felt like the vibe was strong through the next four, including a real big solo from cactus mr michael gordon, but then the waiting all night, winter queen section of the show put up a big roadblock to my enjoyment. i tried skipping forward to winter queen but then i was really like 'what's the use?' so i turned it off. but i will say that if you are a fan of waiting all night, it seemed like, the part i listened to, it was shaping up to be a real big version. it's a really great sounding song that i just simply am not a fan of. hm. oh well, i'm just glad theres no shortage of people who will really be grooving to this show...."

"As a 20 year vet I thought this year's Dick's run was Awesome! The first night was definitely the night for them to get back into the groove and reconnect after 20+ days off. But Saturday was high energy right out of the gate and Sunday was nice and dark. Very psychedelic on Sunday night. Now I was not able to see the boys at all this year except for Dick's and I was really excited about the weekend so maybe that makes me a little biased after being deprived all year. But Saturday and Sunday were just so fun. They fuckin rocked that shit on saturday. regardless of some flubs here and there, Ithought the energy that night was amazing. And they really seemed to be enjoying it. and Sunday was just a treat. I really thought they took on a bit of a darker quality on Sunday and enjoyed the change in ambience. I liked phish's darker period in the late 90's and got a taste of that on Sunday night. And hey, that Mike's was fun!!!! One of my favorite Phish quotes is from the Bittersweet Motel when Trey basically says he doesnt care if every note is perfect, but is more concerned with the fact "that the place was rockin'" (to paraphrase). It's not all about technicality. It's too easy to focus in on the mistakes they might have made or to be over critical about what they played. I mean come on, we all want to hear those old-school style set lists where its just one heavy-hitter after another and is comprised of fugal-chases and highly scored, complex part writing. But that is the past, and Phish is a band that is constantly evolving. A lot of my older friends rom the early 90's aren't into it anymore, which I just don't understand. If you are a newb, I suggest downloading as much phish from the early and mid-nineties as possible. Im sure many of you have done this already, but for those who have not, please do yourself a favor and listen to some old school phish. Start early and work your way up through the 90's into 2000 and then through the all of the little "post-hiatus" eras since then. listen to how this band has evolved over the years into what and who they are today. I think it may instill a little more appreciation for what they do now. If anybody would like some old school taper shows, hit me up: trubador25@gmail.com"
